Jerry Rankin, Montana-born and -raised, explores the allegorical landscape in all its dimensions. Soundings captures the pulsations, horizons, chromatic shifts, and the analogy between the musical and geographical space. Artist, teacher and jazz musician, Rankin’s work is exhibited and collected widely throughout the West. In 2000, The University of Montana-Missoula celebrated a 30-year retrospective of his work. The Holter is honored to host Jerry Rankin’s vibrant new body of work.
