Last night the Capital City Cachers met to discuss the summer event. This is going to be one great geocaching party. The activities planned are awesome: sapphire searching, poker runs, toss the GPS and prizes, prizes, PRIZES! Just some of the prizes include at new Garmin GPS – sorry, I can’t remember the model number, but it is a fancy one. Also among the stash: a reclining outdoor chair, Nikon binoculars, pocket knife, first aid kits, flashlights and more.
We are hoping that the event coins arrive soon so we can share a preview of how cool they are. Unfortunately, the place we rented the dunk tank from is no longer in business so as of right now, there is no dunk tank. I’m sure we can all find another way to take revenge of one of Helena’s craftiest geocaching hiders, MTScarecrow.
As always, this groups impresses me with their organization, giving spirit and love of the game. We admired the Rand McNally write-up and caught up on each other lives after a long winter. Best of all, we all shared our love of geocaching. We all play the game in different ways and to different levels, but sitting down at the table with these people, it does not matter if you have one geocache under your belt or one thousand, everyone is welcome.
And in turn, everyone is welcome at the summer event on June 21, 2014. Here’s the geocaching event link. Please log as “will attend” so we know how many to expect.
Check out the GeoTour link for the hotels who are offering discounts to geocachers for the event and for the GeoTour. There are some generous offers out there for cachers. If you haven’t done the GeoTour yet, this is the time!
I can’t wait to help host what I hope will be Montana’s biggest geocaching event.
