Restaurants with Outdoor Seating in Downtown Helena, Montana
Helena locals and visitors looking to soak in every ounce of the remainder of warm, summer nights this year have a wide selection of outdoor seating options in the Downtown area to choose from. Here is my recommended list of the top 10 Downtown Helena restaurants with outdoor seating options. Keep in mind, this foodie lady would not be recommending these restaurants if they weren’t all equally delicious and unique in their own way. I will simply share some of the Helena Tourism Alliance staff member’s favorite dishes at each restaurant and let your taste buds decide which is the best choice for your meal.
The Brewhouse | 989 ½ Getchell Street | Sun-Sat, 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
Our Recommendation: Guilty pleasure? Queen’s Fish with sweet potato fries and a side of coleslaw. Lighter fare? Chicken pesto wrap. Definitely try the sweet potato fries, they may change your life.
Suki Café | 15 W 6th Avenue | Mon-Sat, 11:00 am- 9:00 pm; Closed Sunday
Our Recommendation: Start with the tempura, total party in your mouth. I’m a sucker for green curry and theirs will knock your socks off. Note – I like my curry a little spicier, you can get spice on the side and add based on your preference.
Bert & Ernie’s | 361 N. Last Chance Gulch | Sun-Sat, 11am – 10pm
Our Recommendation: Irish nachos. Crispy potato skins smothered in the meat of your choice with a big ol’ doll-up of sour cream, makes for sheer deliciousness.
Hub Coffee | 314 N. Last Chance Gulch | Mon-Fri, 7am – 5pm; Sat-Sun, 8am – 4pm
Our Recommendation: Come here for lunch and get either the chicken gyro hub-style or the garlic roast beef. They can replace any bread with romaine lettuce leaves as well.
Fusion Grill | 825 Great Northern Blvd | Sun-Fri, 11am-10pm; Sat, 11am-11pm
Our Recommendation: Harvest Cranberry or Thai Beef salads. This is one of the few places I would go purposely planning to order a salad.
Silver Star Steak Co. | 833 Great Northern Blvd | Mon-Sat, 10:30am – 10:00pm; Sun, 4-10pm
Our Recommendation: We may be a couple thousand miles from the sea, but their calamari doesn’t disappoint with a light flaky breading and tender meat. Main course, try the Thai chicken wrap. Guilty pleasure? Any of their soups.
Quarry Bar and Grill | 22 N. Last Chance Gulch | Mon-Thur, 6:30am-10:00pm; Fri-Sat, 6:30am-11:00pm; Sun, 6:30am-9:00pm
Our Recommendation: Arguably the best outdoor seating option in the Last Chance walking mall. Must try their turkey bacon sandwich. Crispy and savory at the same time.
Café Zydeco | 1 W 15th Street | Mon, 11am-3pm; Tues-Fri, 11am-7pm; Sat, 9am-3pm; Closed Sunday
Our Recommendation: Bayou Po-boy, Pasta Zydeco, Reuben…my mouth is watering. Is yours?
Karmadillos | 139 Reeder’s Alley | Tues-Sun, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, 5:00 – 9:00 pm; Closed Monday
Our Recommendation: Two enchiladas – one pork covered in green sauce, one beef covered in red sauce. The green is a bit spicier, tender tummies be prepared.
Mediterranean Grill | 42 S Park Avenue | Mon-Sat, 11am-9:30pm; Sun, 9am-9:30pm
Our Recommendation: Insalata Frutti di Mare with a crisp white wine on the patio makes for a lovely evening.
Helena is typically fortunate enough to have beautiful weather through September. Just because kids are back in school doesn’t mean an end to your evenings outdoors. Get out and enjoy the fabulous food our Downtown has to offer.
