Beginning next Friday, June 3rd, the Helena Tourism Alliance/Bike Helena along with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana are honored to bring you a new way to commute to work – via biking, hiking or running Helena Montana’s stellar South Hills Trail System.

Shuttles will be leaving the Woman’s Mural (located at the corner of Last Chance Gulch and Broadway) Friday morning promptly at 6:00 am and 6:45 am. The Trail Rider shuttle will drop off users near the Mount Helena Ridge Trailhead, Grizzly Gulch.  This shuttle option makes your morning work commute to Downtown Helena a lot more enjoyable as you take in beautiful singletrack and the views that make Montana.  Talk about a positive start to your Friday morning!

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana has supported this morning ride for Helena residents and visitors alike. The morning shuttle will run every Friday at 6:00 am and 6:45 am from June 3 to September 2. John Doran with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana says, “The Trail Rider has garnered national attention as a unique option for outdoors enthusiasts to explore and enjoy our incredible trail system. We are excited to extend that opportunity to Helenans who want a different take on commuting to work by bike or foot.”IMG_5263

The Trail Rider Shuttle this year started Thursday, May 12th and will run through October 16th.  Bike Helena and the Helena Tourism Alliance are pleased to bring users a longer season with five day a week shuttles.  A complete schedule can be found online at http://www.bikehelena.com/index.php/trail-rider/. The new Huckwagon bike trailer has made for easier bike loading/unloading. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the Trail Rider bus.

The program remains free thanks to the support of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana, McDonalds and the wonderful business in Helena that support a healthy, active lifestyle and value our trail system and the quality of life we enjoy in our community.

Don’t forget the Trail Rider will be operating Memorial Day – Monday, May 30 with morning shuttles from the Women’s Mural to Mount Helena Ridge Trail at 8:45 am, 9:30 am and 10:15 am.
